Act Fast In Time of Emergency

In the recent training with Jabatan Bomba and Penyelamat Malaysia, Putrajaya branch (Bomba Putrajaya), Putrajaya Perdana Berhad's (PPB) Emergency Response Team (ERT) were taught to think and act fast during an emergency.

“Timing plays an extremely important role in times of emergency. Within minutes, fire can consume the entire building. As such, nobody should hesitate to act when faced with a fire hazard. It is the responsibility of ERT members to remain alert, calm and act fast. All fire-fighting equipment must be inspected at routinely to ensure 100% functionality of the equipment to fight fire when needed,” emphasized repeatedly by Tuan Haji Rusli bin Nusi from Bomba Putrajaya during the 1-day course held at Bomba Cyberjaya.

Tuan Haji Rusli also briefed the team on how to free oneself during a total blackout in a smoke-filled room and also emphasized the safety measures to be taken by every individual prior to any incidents. Basic first-aids were also introduced to when touched on the role of the First-Aider of the team.

PPB’s ERT (HQ), a sub division of Health, Safety and Environment Committee (HQ) was formed in November 2005 in response to OHSAS 18001 Standard to safeguard health and safety of the residents in Danau Point. Throughout the year, PPB’s ERT organised fire drills, fire extinguisher usage and other first aid programmes for its employees.
