The calmness of Putra Perdana Development Sdn Bhd (PPD) showroom in Danau Point was broken by the many happy faces of students who were Putrajaya Perdana Berhad's (PPB) 2012 scholarship recipients. Most of them were accompanied by their parents and relatives to sign the Scholarship Agreement and receive the scholarship award. In total over 50 people attended this auspicious event.

28 August 2012 marked the 7th year of PPB Annual Scholarship Programme, and in total PPB has assisted 70 deserving scholars to pursue their higher education in local colleges or universities in subjects relating to the construction industry. Each scholar’s application are strictly scrutinized for deserving points and only the most deserving ones are short listed for an interview. They have to impress the interviewer with their extra ordinary academic achievements and personality, only then they are awarded the scholarship.

The sponsored scholars who have completed their tertiary studies will be recruited into PPB’s workforce to be trained in various fields including Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, M&E Engineering, and Construction Management. The Scholarship Award Programme is part of PPB’s effort to be a good corporate citizen by assisting the underprivileged group of people.

In his speech to this year’s scholars, Mr. Goh Ceah Chuang reminded scholars the importance of gaining a good academic achievement, “Scholars, you must stay focused at all times. Give your best in your academic pursuit as this will set the pace of your career, it will be your first footprint in marking your entire career path.”

After having a good lunch, the scholars and their family members were given a tour of the Diamond Building and were also introduced to PPB’s projects and development in Putrajaya.
